AW Byrde & Associates
I am Anthony Byrde, an Accredited Surveyor Member of the YBDSA with a Diploma in Yacht & Boatyard Management. I have been surveying yachts and small craft since 1987, before which I ran a yacht-repair workshop for a marina in Poole. I have a wide experience of all aspects of motor and sailing yachts, their build, repair, and refit. I do MCA Small Commercial Vessels Coding and Tonnage Measurements for registration. I can also supervise the construction of new craft and have a good professional working relationship with local motor yacht builders in Poole.
I am experienced in GRP, Timber, Steel and Ferro-Cement construction, and am willing to cover all craft from the smallest to about 120' / 35 metres, depending on the type. I also have long-term contacts with specialists where I believe a particular expertise is necessary.
You can commission anything from a full structural survey to just particular areas that you are concerned about. (Full out-of-water structural surveys are needed for Insurance, and include a Valuation). My aim is to give a high-quality, efficient and professional service, in a field where experience and knowledge counts.
