From September 2013, a new edition to the Nanni engine range, the T4.270 will be available. The T4 Evo2 series engines have been developed on the basis of the proven reliable Common Rail engine which is used on several Toyota four-wheel drive vehicles.

Back in July 2009, Nanni Diesel and the Italian company VM Motori announced an agreement in which VM will supply four and six cylinder diesel engines which will be marinised and distributed worldwide by Nanni Diesel. The new four-cylinder diesel has a displacement of 2.0 litres and incorporates a common rail fuel system and four valves with ratings of 115, 130, 150 & 170hp (86, 97, 112 and 127kW). The six-cylinder engine has a 4.2 litre displacement in three versions with maximum outputs of 268, 320 & 350hp (200, 269 and 261kW).
Nanni Diesel also have the Hybrid engine. Suitable for the Nanni Diesel engine range from 37.5 to 200hp, it is available in 24v (6.8hp) and 48v (9.5hp). Environmentally friendly with zero emissions, silent and comfortable whilst operating in electrical mode, it fits neatly between the engine flywheel and the gearbox and requires very little maintenance. The first UK Hybrid was successfully commissioned in May 2010 in a new build 56ft canal boat. The boat is powered by a N4.43 diesel engine that operates alongside the hybrid drive which is powered by a 24 volt battery bank made up from 2v cells.
When cruising under engine power, the battery bank is being charged. Tests have shown just how efficient this is - 140amps at 900rpm and 260amps at 1300rpm proving to be a really quick time for re-charging.
Switching from diesel to electric power is a simple turn of a key. The diesel engine stops, the electric motor takes over and silent cruising begins with no interruption. Under electric power the boat handles as if under engine power up to 1300rpm. At 4 knots the cruising range is 6 hours at 70% battery charge.
