Red Sails in the Bay Cornish Films
This film tells the story of the Cornish luggers. There has been a flurry of restorations in the last few years, and Happy Return, Barnabas, Ripple
and Dolly Pentreath feature.
Of course, the most famous lugger now is Pete Gosss new-built Spirit of Mystery. The 1854 voyage of the original Mystery is covered, and just how tricky a lugger is to sail is shown in footage filmed at last years Sea, Salts and Sail festival in Mousehole, Cornwall.
Verdict: A fitting testament to these historic craft
